According to Christian tradition, Jesus’ body was laid on the Stone of Unction, also known as the Stone of Anointing, after being removed from the crucifix and after being prepared for burial by Joseph of Arimathea. In preparation for burial, the body of Jesus was anointed with oil and spices and then wrapped in shrouds. The Stone of Anointing, which is highly polished and of a reddish tone, is located at the entrance to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in the Old City of Jerusalem.

The same stone as the Stone of Anointing can be used in a variety of ways. It is ideal for tombstones, monuments, Urns and other religious uses.
